Namaste,
Welcome to
my home web-site. I’m
Jadeine Shives and I invite you to a world where mystical
experiences have led to incredible changes around the world! Please
join me as I share my passion in life for experiencing Divinity
in all Its many forms through the faces, places, and purposes
found within the soon to be released journal Digging
a Well to Heaven . . . A Woman’s Odyssey into the Heart of
India and the Soul of Her Self! and the 1008 Wells Foundation.
In 2001 my husband, Tony, and
I made a great pilgrimage to India to
participate in the Maha Kumbha Mela, the largest gathering
of individuals in the course of history . . . ever! It was
an incredible experience shared with over 70 million people
over the course of 6 weeks, with 34 million people bathing
at the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati
Rivers near Allahabad, India,
on just one day. Each person’s reason for coming may have
been spurred by unique personal desires, but our revelry
in the joyous celebration of God was one. For thousands
of years this festival has taken place on the banks of the
sacred rivers of India,
and every twelve years devotees come to wash away their karmas,
listen to the sages speak of Divine Revelations, and to nourish
their souls in celebrating That which permeates everyone and everything.
The energy level was incredible,
the sights and sounds joyously overwhelming, and the experience
of Divinity vibrated through us all with shouts of Jai
Ram! . . . Hari Krishna! . . . Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya! . . . Om Nama Shivaya! and many other
devotional expressions of bliss. From around the world people
came; Hindus, Buddhists, Christians and just about every
other path of faith could be found standing side by side
offering marigolds to the rivers, love to each other, and
a profound respect for those hardy enough to make the journey. Yes,
it was truly a once in a lifetime experience.
With freshly bathed hearts and
souls, Tony and I traveled across the breadth and width of India visiting
many sacred temples and other places of pilgrimage. Along
the way we found not only the “masala” flavoring of India,
but a potpourri of cultural richness, natural beauty and
our Selves in the process. Without a doubt, we experienced
a land of intense mystical energy that transformed the spiritual
aspirant as well as the unsuspecting.
In this sacred space, Divinity
was found not only riding the waves of bliss on the banks
of the Ganges surrounded by thousands of holy men, but also
in the terrifying nightmares that brought screams in the
middle of the night. From the great cremation ghats of Benares,
to a death fever blazing in the jungle; from the flowered
breezes of Bangalore to the crushing of my ego at the feet
of my Guru. Every moment was an opportunity to truly experience Divinity
in all Its many aspects. Yet, it was only possible by seeing through
the eyes of the heart, heard through the voice of the heart,
tasted through the sweetness of the heart, and felt through
the pulsations of the heart.
